What's for dinner?
I made all of this!
Fresh home-made goatsmilk feta cheese, fresh basil, cukes, yellow squash, vine ripe brandywine tomatoes and homemade chevre.
This time of year, the only thing I really have to buy is olive oil and olives. And squishy white bread for the 'mater sandwiches. I even make my own mayo.
This morning I had an icey cold glass of goat milk (fresh squeezed from last night).
It's a great life and I love it. There are some hard decisions to be made this fall. We are having to say goodbye to Lucky, my overly affectionate wether. He's developing aggressive tendencies...so...it's off to the sale barn. Either that, or he goes in the freezer. The sale barn would be easier, but I hate the thought of a stranger slaughtering him for meat. Ethically, I feel I should take that responsibility.
Life is easier when you aren't intimately acquainted with your dinner. But I'm awfully proud of these veggies and cheeses!

and now I must have a greek salad! but alas I hate to buy feta cheese - storebought is always too salty!
